After a preview of the final production cut of Ghostbusters documentary: Cleanin’ up the Town premiered at Ghostbusters Fan Fest, Anthony and Claire Bueno announced on 9/20 via Facebook that they submitted their multi-year project to Kew Media for final distribution. While it was unknown to the UK based filmmaking team at the time how it would be distributed, Kew Media has already announced their plans moving forward on getting the Kickstarter financed project out to its fan.
Kew Media has announced a limited run to UK cinemas this December, along with a Video-on-Demand release in January. The documentary which took 12 years to complete from its inception is chalk full of cast and crew members who tell great stories about the making of Ghostbusters in 1983-1984. This documentary also marks the final interview with Harold Ramis who passed away in 2014.
The team from our sister podcast: The Ecto Pod were able to discuss the documentary with Anthony and Claire after its 15 minute debut at Ghostbusters Fan Fest. We will be releasing that interview as our next “Ecto Extra” in the month of October.
