Universal Monsters Reborn.. Again.

In what seemed a hopeless dream, Universal announced plans that they were no longer going to pursue their remakes of the original monster movies. But news broke today that Universal is handing the reigns over to horror juggernaut Blumhouse Productions. With a plethora of options to choose from Blumhouse announced they were beginning with the 1933 classic The Invisible Man.

Further detailing the announcement Leight Whannel will be directing the production. Whannel the co-creator of the Saw, and Insidious franchise. Recently breaking out solo with the film Upgrade, Whannel will also be overseeing as a producer. Previously Johnny Depp was attached to star, but with this transition Depp is no longer attached to the project. Other attached talent to the remakes include Javier Bordem, and Russel Crowe.

No release date has been announced, we will report further details as they break.
