The brand new trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife has arrived and it’s chock full of new character goodness, mixed with a healthy dose of nostalgia that will have original fans misty eyed (yes…yes I was). It was announced today that Warner Bros. Studios has asked Johnny Depp to leave the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film franchise. Details were not given as to why but many speculate that his personal battles with ex-wife Amber Heard were behind the decision.
Depp joined the franchise in 2016 as the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald to the surprise of many fans. Depp would reprised that role in 2018‘s Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The third film, presumably, would feature the showdown between Grindelwald and Jude Law’s Albus Dumbledore as detailed in the Harry Potter book series. No details have been given as to which direction Warner Bros. will take moving forward but Depp did issue a statement on his Instagram page:
