Apocalypse, in the normal world, can bring fear and pain to humanity. Apocalypse, in the world of mutants, can bring fear and pain to humanity, but Apocalypse can bring a power that the most powerful mutants cannot control.

Since his debut, in May of 1986, Apocalypse has been considered the Alpha and Omega of the mutant world of the X-Men. Now, with the release of the trailer for X-Men:Apocalypse, we will finally see this entity on the big screen…

It’s hard to gather the right comments to express the excitement for this movie and the year that 2016 will be for movies. Apocalypse continues to show that a MARVEL movie can survive outside of the MARVEL Cinematic Wonderland (AKA Disney) and a stacked list of characters will be treating fairly.

As this is the first trailer for this production, we can only imagine and know that there will be A LOT more to look forward in the weeks leading to the release.

Nowhere California Talks With LIVE-EVIL Mastermind..

(Joshua Gilmore-Staff Writer)

Back in October, we posted about the horror film LIVE-EVIL and here is the trailer again, if you need a quick refresher…

I was lucky enough to attend this movie’s screening at the 2015 Stan Lee Comikaze and enjoyed every moment of LIVE-EVIL. The movie is a great blend of horror and humor, with a cast and crew that clearly have a passion for the production. LIVE-EVIL is that type of movie you want to watch multiple times and with multiple people, so you can catch every moment.

Now, with that being said, I was lucky enough to have a phone conversation with the writer/director Ari Kirschenbaum and we jumped head first into this movie’s world.

The guys from nowhere meet a girl from Jersey in this next installment of Nowhere California’s coverage of the 2015 Stan Lee Comikaze, as Phil and Josh talk with actress, Marilyn Ghigliotti.

Ghigliotti entered the pop culture world with her work as Veronica in the cult classic “CLERKS” and continues to build a great career, with such movies as “Alien Armageddon” and the upcoming “Lake Eerie”

“Lake Eerie” is set to be unleashed January 15 2016 by Gravitas Ventures and looks like it will be an intense journey.

A journey that wasn’t intense was our conversation with Marilyn, it was an absolute pleasure and we would like to thank Marilyn for this opportunity.

The Bloody Art Of Jessica Cameron..

(Joshua Gilmore-Staff Writer)

In the world of horror, there is no mid road and you shouldn’t have a mild reaction to whatever you are viewing. There is good and there is bad, but there is a strong reaction and the same can be said about the world of independent horror.

Luckily for the guys from Nowhere, we met up with a talented horror artist at the 2014 Days of the Dead Convention. Her name is Jessica Cameron and the guys were able to talk with her after a screening of her directorial debut “Truth or Dare”

“Truth or Dare” was an intense watch and the people attending this screening can agree. There was even a viewer that walked out, but we were given fair warning by the director and we were given complimentary vomit bags. As the movie was one experience, talking with Jessica and Jonathan Higgins (Jonathan co-wrote Truth or Dare with Jessica) was one of our favorite memories of Nowhere California.

During our conversation, Jessica revealed some details on her upcoming projects and here is the trailer for one of the projects “MANIA” As you can see, from this teaser trailer, we are in store for the best kind of mind fuck and this new force of horror will not be ignored.

The Lady Behind The Slime..

As we continue to build this site and look back the history of Nowhere California, it still surprises us the things we have pulled off and the people we have met. The time we talked with the talented Robin Shelby is a great example of both of those things.

Robin Shelby, for those new to our world, was the actress that performed as Slimer in the 1989 classic “Ghostbusters II” and this performance brought our first interaction, through the ECTO POD Podcast..

The Ecto Pod Talks With Robin Shelby..

After this conversation, we wanted another chance to talk with Robin about her fascinating career and what lead her to this world. So, with the idea, the guys from nowhere ventured outside of the Nowhere city limits and met this amazing individual in person.

Here is our conversation…

As most of Robin’s fan know, she is an absolute delight and loves all of her fans. We consider ourselves very lucky to have witnessed this first hand and sincerely thank her for this great opportunity.

Grand Theft Parsons Writer Invades Nowhere…

(Joshua Gilmore- Staff Writer)
In the early planning stages of Nowhere California, the idea of conducting interviews was the furthest thought from our minds and at most a pipe dream. As time progressed, we started covering conventions and building connections. One of those connections grew from Josh’s fandom of a particular independent movie and the movie is “Grand Theft Parsons”

“Grand Theft Parsons” was released in 2004 and was based on the life of Gram Parsons or Gram’s afterlife to be exact. During Gram’s rise in the world of music, he made a pact with his roadie/best friend Phil Kaufman (played in the movie by Johnny Knoxville) that had to be fulfilled after one of their deaths. The pact was that the surviving friend would take the body of the deceased out to the desert and set their soul free. After Gram’s passing in 1973, Phil had to follow through with the promise and it wasn’t as easy as you think.

One of the major aspects on Nowhere California was the ability for Josh and Phil to talk about the things that are important to them, independent movies were at the top of the list and “Grand Theft Parsons” was an important part of that category.

An opportunity presented itself and Josh jumped at it. The opportunity was to talk with the writer of “Grand Theft Parsons”, Jeremy Drysdale and here is that conversation..

Also, if you are an avid Nowhere California listener, Phil and Josh recorded a special edition of “Why Not” to discuss this movie…
Why Not #11-Why Not Grand Theft Parsons?

As we are always prone to thank people a lot. We would like to send a huge thank you to Jeremy for this amazing conversation. It’s rare to meet someone that you respect and enjoy their work, it a whole different story when you get to talk to them. Thank you!
