The Matrix Resurrections

(Nicholas Dye/Staff Writer)

On the heels of one of the coolest teaser trailers ever, today we got our first glimpse into the new and improved Matrix universe. We get to see Carrie Ann Moss return as Trinity as well as KeNu Reeves as the mythic Thomas Anderson…? No seriously, his old persona seems to be all that remains. The One, Neo clearly doesn’t remember his previous form and it seems the basis of Resurrections is to help him rediscover who he truly is. Now I’ll shut up so you can watch the trailer below. The Matrix Resurrection is slated to hit theaters on 12/22/2021.

Bill and Ted Face the Music Trailer #2

Bill and Ted Shredding MOST Excellently

(Nicholas Dye/Staff Writer)

The time has come for the second trailer and this time, it seems, our boys have run out of time while their kids are traveling…time…Oh look, I’ve gone cross-eyed. The second trailer for Bill and Ted Face the Music gives us a bigger glimpse at the lives Bill and Ted lead now and it seems things have taken a bogus turn. The guys are in marriage counseling, the future has given them a day to save the universe, their kids have gone to hell, and they still haven’t written THE song! Will the Wyld Stallyns save the universe or is 2020 really the year the world ends? Find out August 28th when Bill and Ted Face The Music hits theaters.

Gentlemen…We’re History

The year is 2020. The future has become uncertain. Mankind faces obstacle after obstacle and our way of life is in peril. Just when all seems lost, our time traveling heroes, Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan return to show us the future is still most excellent.

The date: June 9th, 2020. The time: 6:24 in the morning. I am awakened to a screaming goat (my text tone…don’t ask) notifying me that I have a message from my friend Lissa. Wiping the sleep away, my eyes adjust, and I realize she has sent me the trailer for the MOST anticipated film of the year! (I know it’s subjective but this is my article so…eat it).  Okay okay!! I’m over vamping so let’s just get to it.

I have three words to sum up the excitement I felt watching this for the first time…William FREAKING Sadler!! Yes ladies and gentlemen, Death has returned and was air guitar jamming with our boys once again!! Seriously…here’s another picture of him just to show you how awesome this is!! Bill & Ted Face the Music is slated to hit theaters (fingers crossed) on August 21st, 2020. Directed by Dean Parisot

The Future Looks Most Excellent!

In the midst of all this most heinous COVID-19 stuff, fans of the highly anticipated Bill & Ted Face The Music have been, ironically, concerned about the future of our musical saviors. Rumors have circulated that the film would, more than likely, end up pushed out of theaters and land on streaming services or wind up like John Wick 4 and the fourth Matrix film (I know…all Keanu vessels), pushed to net year. One fan took to twitter to ask Alex Winter (aka Bill S. Preston Esq.) himself what the status was regarding our wayward time travelers and here was Winter’s response

“Hey, thanks for asking. Everything is great in BT3 land. The cut is almost done and looks fantastic. Teasers and trailers are ready to go. Like every movie slated for this summer we had to stop and reorganize due to Covid. Teaser coming in a few weeks, news on release soon!”

Although this doesn’t confirm nor deny anything, the news that the film is firmly in post-production AND that trailers will be coming soon is, as our heroes would say, most tranquil. I will throw my prediction out there and say that, although Face The Music is still set to release August 21, that would put them smashed directly between Wonder Woman 84 and The New Mutants, Orion Pictures will opt to move Bill and Ted to a streaming service with the possibility of a theatrical release further down the road. Either way it pans out, I am overjoyed at the news that we will have a trailer soon! Check back with us here at Nowhere California for trailers and trailer reactions/breakdowns. Until then…Be excellent to each other and…PARTY ON DUDES!!

Strange Things Are Afoot…

The year was 1989…I was 13 and I was driving my mom nuts by responding to simple good news by shouting “Excellent!” and throwing air guitar or “Bogus!” over bad news. I watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure on a loop everyday for the better part of a year.

Into the phone booth we go to 1991. Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey hits and I lost my marbles and so did my girlfriend who had to deal with me! I burned out my Sony Discman playing KISS’ God Gave Rock and Roll To You and threw out my shoulder with more air guitar!

Back into the booth we go to a few days ago when Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves sent a short clip from the Hollywood Bowl and OFFICIALLY confirmed Bill and Ted 3: Face the Music will be filming this summer! I just threw out my shoulder again but it was well worth it!! This most non-heinous news was supported by the reveal that William Sadler would be reprising his scene stealing role of Death for the third installment. OW! My shoulder can’t take much more of this! This film is a direct result of how fan support can influence a movie to be green lit with the help of the very enthusiastic original writers Chris Mattheson and Ed Solomon. Seriously, I’m gonna go call my doctor about my shoulder while you go enjoy the announcement video below. Be excellent to each other and…PARTY ON DUDES! Dammit I did it again! Bill and Ted 3: Face the Music is slated for a 2020 release so stay tuned right here for any breaking news!

John Wick 2…John Kills Everyone

“The only way out is back in.” That is the tagline for the follow-up to 2014’s John Wick. Subtly titled, John Wick: Chapter 2, John has to venture to Europe (yes the car comes too!) in what can assume is his attempt to get back out of the hitman business. Of course, the bodies will pile up quite high before that happens and we get an appearance from Morpheus as he tries to mentor Neo…wait…wrong film. Lawrence Fishburne does appear and will be joined by newcomers Common and Ruby Rose with Ian McShane and John Leguizamo returning.

From our last few posts, it would appear that 2017 is going to be off with a shot and the earliest shot we have so far is John Wick: Chapter 2 which will hit theaters February 10th. Although not rated yet, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess it will be a hard ‘R’ for violence.
