On the heels of one of the coolest teaser trailers ever, today we got our first glimpse into the new and improved Matrix universe. We get to see Carrie Ann Moss return as Trinity as well as KeNu Reeves as the mythic Thomas Anderson…? No seriously, his old persona seems to be all that remains. The One, Neo clearly doesn’t remember his previous form and it seems the basis of Resurrections is to help him rediscover who he truly is. Now I’ll shut up so you can watch the trailer below. The Matrix Resurrection is slated to hit theaters on 12/22/2021.
The world of pop culture is still feeling the after effects of the DC Fandome and our favorite villainous squad are jumping from the page to the screen to the next generation of video game consoles.
The Nowhere California team will be diving deep into the first images from “The Suicide Squad” movie, but we have to take a look at the next game from the creative minds behind the legendary Arkham City franchise, Rocksteady Studios.
The members of Task Force X have entered the battle damage city limits of Metropolis, they have one mission and one goal. The mission is to eliminate a target and their goal is to get time erased from their prison sentences, but there is one huge problem and that is the target. Harley Quinn (voiced by Tara Strong), Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark (voiced by WWE superstar Samoa Joe) have to take down Superman. Will the goal outweigh the mission? Also, from the title of the game, we can only imagine that the team will have a lot more on their plates.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will not hit stores until 2022, but this first look has given the world something to be excited for and is given me a reason to possibly upgrade my current video game system.
Arthur Curry has been the butt of jokes for a very long time and the idea of an actual “Aquaman” movie was the thing of punchlines on seasons of “Entourage.” It’s hard to see any franchise hopes from the Justice League member that talks to fish, but in the right hand, an “Aquaman” movie can possibly win at the difficult game of Hollywood JENGA.
At the recent San Diego Comic Con, the world received its first look at DC Universe’s “Aquaman”..
This is one of those moments where saying, “This is not your father’s Aquaman” would not deserve a swift punch to the face and years of scorn from your friends.
James Wan is at the helm of this film and, from the trailer, things are looking great. The assembled cast and crew have constructed a movie that seems to move past DC’s past issues, such as the “talk bubbles” from the “Justice League” and they have unlocked a world that could only be shown in this modern age of filmmaking.
It could be easy to start naming off the cast, but the names speak for themselves and the trailer raises that volume to eleven. The visuals of this trailer give this creation the possibility of something more than blonde hair and an orange shirt. The views of Atlantis are stunning and gives viewers a chance to be a part of this unique DC world.
Warner Brothers and DC should be looking at this movie with high hopes. The future of DC movies has seemed to become scrambled, it is not a mess, but the focus seems to be misguided slightly. “Aquaman” will hopefully return DC to a track that “Wonder Woman” has started and focus on the league that brought them into the theaters.
This past week has given us our first look at not one but TWO new Batman animated films that don’t feature the vocal talents of Kevin Conroy! Somewhere, Two-Face’s nipples just got hard! Drawing from all-new material and set in feudal Japan is Batman Ninja. Now I know that sounds like a shitty ploy to get you to buy your kids new toys of Batman as a ninja and Joker, as a ninja, and Harley Quinn as…wait for it…a ninja, but it isn’t. This is a very beautifully detailed anime of Batman as he faces off against the craziest Joker we may have seen since someone thought Jared Leto would be an awesome Joker. Either way it looks 100% badass. The trailer gives us a glimpse at Robin, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Clayface, and Grodd. Yup…you heard me…mother-effing Gorilla Grodd as, what appears to be, a warlord! An english dubbed version is coming with a voice cast that is yet to be revealed but, I for one, cannot wait to miss most of the movie reading subtitles just to hear Wataru Takagi do the creepiest scream as the Joker when he attacks batman with a katana in hand. After this trailer, I dare you not to say shinseina tawagoto Batoman!
I mean…COME ON!! My only question is, how the hell does Batman have a Batwing and a few other tech gadgets in feudal Japan? Ah who cares!?
As if that wasn’t enough. DC Animation finally brings us an adaptation of one of my favorite Batman Elseworlds titles in Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. Set in Gotham in 1889, Bruce Wayne returns from a trip to Europe and takes up the mantle of the Batman to stop the legendary Jack the Ripper who has come to Gotham. While the translation to animation doesn’t quite convey the gritty style of the comic (originally drawn masterfully by Hellboy’s Mike Mignola), it does look like it follows the story arc beautifully. Finally there will be a viable reason for those damned steam-punk cosplayers to be at SDCC with their damned Dr. Floobert’s Amazing Gizmotron-Doohickity-Pew-Pew Ray Gun or whatever the hell they call it. Either way, check out the trailer below and, look for Gotham by Gaslight on January 23rd 2018 with Batman Ninja later in 2018.

Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con for 2017 has entered the books and the time has come for Nowhere California to share our adventures at this most excellent event. In the next few weeks, we will be unleashing our favorite moments and conversations for the world to enjoy. In the first installment, the guys from Nowhere have one hoot of a conversation and talk with Carlos Alazraqui.
Carlos is the multi talented performer from in front of the camera and behind the microphone. The list of characters he has created and voiced can stretch for a decent length, but for one member of the Nowhere California team (namely me) the top of the list will always be held by a certain wallaby named Rocko. Luckily, that wallaby will be returning to thee small screen and to the advanced modern world in 2018 with a new “Rocko’s Modern Life” movie entitled “Static Cling.”
The entire Nowhere California team would like to send our thanks to Carlos for taking the time to talk to us at the convention. It was a great pleasure and we hope everyone has enjoyed this edition of our LA Comic Con coverage.
It’s time for our final conversation from Nowhere California’s adventures at the 2017 Long Beach Comic Expo and this final conversation will help you explore your untapped powers, but not in the self-help/Tony Robbins way and more in the way of MARVEL/DC. In this installment, the guys from Nowhere talk with Kyle Marlett.
Kyle is the creative mind behind the website MutantPowers.net, this is a site that will help the most normal comic book fan unlock some truly unique gifts and these “gifts” come in the form of specially created magic tricks/special effect.
Kyle’s life and love for nerd culture has been an interesting journey, so you know that this was a conversation that needed to take place and it was a pleasure of the Nowhere California team to talk with this creative mind. If you want to see what Kyle might have in store for you, go to MUTANTPOWERS.NET and find out.
The San Diego Comic Con has had a history of shocking first looks and this year that tradition continue, thanks to the creative minds of the DC Universe. During the Saturday panels, DC unleashed a special trailer for the first part of the “Justice League” franchise. This was not just a teaser trailer, it was a full blown trailer…
“Justice League” began principal photography in April of this year and we now have a trailer, there are dozens of question that could be asked and I could care less about the answers. This trailer explodes the universe that was teased in “Dawn Of Justice” and definitely takes a tone shift that was set up with Batman v Superman, but I do not think this is aftermath of that movie’s mixed reviews.
“Dawn Of Justice” and “Justice League” are different worlds to a bigger universe, just like the individual MARVEL movie had a different view compared to the assembled Avengers movies. “Justice League” has more pressure on it compared to the first Avengers movie, most people will want to pull this movie in multiple direction to fit into the current mold and that would be a mistake. DC and Warner Bros. need to stay focused on their universe, so the fans can have a unique world that they deserve.
The Comic Con party rages in San Diego and DC has brought a legendary Amazonian princess to the event, as new trailer and poster for the upcoming movie “Wonder Woman” was released onto the world.
After our first exposure to Diana Prince in “Dawn Of Justice”, most comic book fans were starting to feel that the stars might have finally aligned and this trailer proves it. The Wonder Woman film has been in development and pre-production hell for years, but the problem could have been a simple missing piece to the puzzle and that piece seems to be Gal Gadot.
Gadot entered the DC universe as somewhat of an unknown and quickly made an impact, as shown through her stellar reviews in the lukewarm “Batman v Superman” critical reactions. This trailer has shown that “Wonder Woman” belongs in the major leagues of super hero blockbusters.
It started one year ago today, this site was launched and took the concept of Nowhere California to a whole new level.
Nowhere California started in 2011 and it was just another conversation between two friends, but these conversation started taking place in front of a microphone and unleashed on the internet. It was as simple as that, but as Nowhere California evolved, the team grew and new accomplishments were reach.
The episodes started to grow and the team ventured out of the Nowhere city limits, as they dove into the world of conventions and conducting interviews. It was with each accomplishment, the Nowhere California family stuck to their ideals of what they wanted to produce and not to become just another podcast.
It was that mindset that grew into this website and, as we mark our first year on the net, we want to simply say THANK YOU.
Thank you for following the journey of Nowhere California.
Thank you for listening to the original podcast and all of the other podcast that have sprung from this little idea.
Thank you for checking out this site
And thank you for continuing this adventure with us.
One bad day. It just takes one bad day to turn the sanest mortal into the darkest of souls and just one bad day is the lynch pin behind one of most infamous DC graphic novels, “The Killing Joke”. This graphic novel is held in high regards in most comic book circles and will be making its animated film debut in a few short weeks.
“The Killing Joke” will be released digitally on July 23,2016 and Blu-Ray/Dvd on August 2. This film will break new ground for the popular DC animated movie series, as “The Killing Joke” will be rated R. That rating is a relief to many, as any lower rating would be a disservice to the legacy of this story.
As you can tell quickly from the trailer, the legacy of this story is well protect in many ways and two of those reasons come in the form of the voice talents. The men that are synonymous with this classic rivalry, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will headline this film.
A reminder, if you’re a fan of the original graphic novel or you’re a fan of the DC animated universe, this is an entry that should not be miss digitally on July 23 and on August 2 in the Blu-Ray/Dvd formats. Also, in the Blu-Ray/Dvd format, watch for a special deluxe edition and the limited edition Joker figure that will be included.
