Reaches Its First Year..

(Joshua Gilmore- Staff Writer)

It started one year ago today, this site was launched and took the concept of Nowhere California to a whole new level.

Nowhere California started in 2011 and it was just another conversation between two friends, but these conversation started taking place in front of a microphone and unleashed on the internet. It was as simple as that, but as Nowhere California evolved, the team grew and new accomplishments were reach.

The episodes started to grow and the team ventured out of the Nowhere city limits, as they dove into the world of conventions and conducting interviews. It was with each accomplishment, the Nowhere California family stuck to their ideals of what they wanted to produce and not to become just another podcast.

It was that mindset that grew into this website and, as we mark our first year on the net, we want to simply say THANK YOU.

Thank you for following the journey of Nowhere California.

Thank you for listening to the original podcast and all of the other podcast that have sprung from this little idea.

Thank you for checking out this site

And thank you for continuing this adventure with us.

We fight again for our Independence!

(Nicholas Dye/Staff Writer)

This summer will mark 20 years since humankind prevailed over the alien threat and the 4th of July became Global Independence Day. In 2016, that independence will once again be threatened by forces from outside our world and once again Dr. David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) is racing the clock to protect us. Independence Day: Resurgence is the long awaited follow-up to Roland Emmerich’s mega-summer blockbuster. Bill Pullman and Vivica A. Fox both reprise their roles as President Whitmore and Jasmine respectively yet without Will Smith’s Captain Steven Hiller. Liam Hemsworth joins the fight this time around as planet earth faces down an even bigger alien threat. 20th Century Fox has created a highly immersive website that chronicles the events following the events of 1996. Check it out here at Will our reverse-engineered alien weaponry be enough to save us again or will planet earth finally fall? Find out June 24, 2016

Suicide Squad is no Joke!! But Seriously…

(Nicholas Dye, Staff Writer)

Revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, here is the Suicide Squad trailer we promised! I am a huge fan of the current comic book run and it looks like David Ayer and John Ostrander went to great lengths to make sure this movie captured the grit and spirit of said comics. The premise of Suicide Squad is a black ops agency, led by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), puts together an elite team using the world’s worst criminals. They are tasked with completing missions deemed…you guessed it, suicidal. The big question…how to keep all those baddies in line? Although we have seen the reveal pictures online, the trailer gives us our first introduction to Jared Leto’s take on the Joker. With some awfully large clown shoes left to be filled by the late Heath Ledger and the outstanding Jack Nicholson, this is no small feat. From his laugh alone, I think Leto will do the legacy proud! Suicide Squad gives Bat-fans their first on screen interpretation of Harley Quinn played by the insanely hot Margot Robbie as well as Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje). The rest of the squad is rounded out by Deadshot (Will Smith), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), and Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman). Much like Guardians of the Galaxy was a runaway sleeper hit for Marvel, I believe Suicide Squad will do the same for DC. Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5, 2016 and is not yet rated.
