The battle lines have been drawn and we know some of the soldiers that will take part in the upcoming Captain America: CIVIL WAR. As we wait for the official trailer release, fans have learned where the big green beast will stand in battle and that will be nowhere.
Mark Ruffalo, who is currently promoting his upcoming movie “Spotlight”, revealed that Hulk was very close to joining the Civil War battle and MARVEL had other ideas. Here is the comments that Ruffalo made to the Italian website Bad Taste …
“The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie (Civil War),” Ruffalo tells Badtaste.it. “I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.”
In the past, The Incredible Hulk has been an incredibly big pain to get translated to the silver screen and could this be another sign of MARVEL’s apathy towards getting the character the respect it deserves on the big screen. MARVEL has kept their plans under wraps, until the time is right and the events of Ultron shows that there should be more on the horizon for Hulk. As long as MARVEL has a winning hand in store for Banner, we can only hope Hulk will finally get his proper time in the spotlight.
The end is near and the demons of the world are coming out of the shadows. Fire City: End Of Days follows a demonic force of nature, known as Vine, as he journeys to make the ultimate choice and this choice will bring life altering conflicts. Vine must choose between the survival of his fellow creatures or protect the life of a human.
This film was inspired by the short film Fire City: King Of Miseries, Brian Lubocki and Michael Hayes tackled the task of writing the script. The director of the original short film, Tom Woodruff Jr, will make his feature film directorial debut with Fire City:End of Days.
Woodruff, known for his Academy Award winning creature effects, will lead a talented cast into this production. Tobias Jelinek (Hocus Pocus), Danielle Chuchran (SAGA : Curse of the Shadow), Glee’s Harry Shum Jr, and Kristin Minter (TVs E.R) are set to star.
After a journey through kickstarter and the festival circuits, this dark adventure will be unleash on DVD/On Demand October 6th. Stay locked into this site for reviews and interviews in the upcoming weeks.
As we continue to build this site and look back the history of Nowhere California, it still surprises us the things we have pulled off and the people we have met. The time we talked with the talented Robin Shelby is a great example of both of those things.
Robin Shelby, for those new to our world, was the actress that performed as Slimer in the 1989 classic “Ghostbusters II” and this performance brought our first interaction, through the ECTO POD Podcast..
After this conversation, we wanted another chance to talk with Robin about her fascinating career and what lead her to this world. So, with the idea, the guys from nowhere ventured outside of the Nowhere city limits and met this amazing individual in person.
As most of Robin’s fan know, she is an absolute delight and loves all of her fans. We consider ourselves very lucky to have witnessed this first hand and sincerely thank her for this great opportunity.

Hello Everyone My name is Philip Morgan and my friend Josh told me to right a blog for our page. For those that don’t know, I am a diehard Ghostbusters fan. Josh and I had talked on and off about the franchise for as long as he’s known me and he wanted me to share with all of you how I enjoy what I like to call The Ideal Ghostbusters marathon. With the Ghostbusters reboot around the corner now sounds like just a good a time as any to tell you guys how I like to enjoy everything the Ghostbusters Franchise has offered so far that I could manage to get a hold of. I shared this info with Josh and he said, “Dude you so totally need to write that down and share it, because that is not a marathon, it’s a Gauntlet 🙂 Now were not just talking watching the 2 movies and boom you’re done. Don’t get me wrong I can do that anytime, because those movies are so much fun. I can watch those anytime any day. If either one happens to be on TV, I will stop what I am doing and just watch it. Now for The Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon I do this once a year. This is a good way to do it because you don’t want to get burned out or bored with a franchise and you don’t want to drive your loved ones crazy with over saturation so you can just ease your way into this marathon and take your time. It gives me something to enjoy all year round because it takes some time to do. Could take a whole year depending how much time one has on their hands.
The Ideal Ghostbusters movie starts simple enough with the first Ghostbusters film. This includes watching the film in all its glory, plus watching the Deleted Scenes. If you know the movie as well as I do it is not hard to know where to insert the Deleted Scenes while you are breezing through the film. Now I start watching the film all the way to the point where the Ghostbusters capture Slimer.
Then I will stop the movie and play The Ghostbusters video games for the Atari 2600, NES, and The Sega Master System.
Then I will resume the film and watch the montage scene up to the point where Winston Zeddemore gets hired.
I stop the film again and watch The Real Ghostbusters Promo pilot for the cartoon because the Ghostbusters are depicted in there Tan uniforms and Winston is present leading my head cannon mind to the conclusion that this scene takes place soon after he was hired.
After that I watch the Ghostbusters music video.
I resume the film up to where Peter and Dana talk about her case and just before the scene changes I stop the film again.
Are we having fun yet? At this point I play The Ghostbusters video game for the Sega Genesis.
After that I finally finish watching the first movie. Then I start watching The Real Ghostbusters cartoon starting with the episode Citizen Ghost this episode tells the story of what happened after the first film and how the Ghostbusters wind up with new uniforms.
After that I enjoy watching season 1 of The Real Ghostbusters which is 13 episodes.
After Season 1 I enjoy watching The Real Ghostbusters Toy Commercials
After that I read all The Real Ghostbusters comic books and Coloring Books and other related activity books. Even if some of the activity books don’t have story and dialogue the art work is really fun to look at. I will also watch The Real Ghostbusters Arcade Gameplay and Play The Real Ghostbusters for The Game boy.
After that I continue watching season 2 of The Real Ghostbusters which is 65 episodes. I like to watch the episode Ragnarok and Roll last because I feel that episode is a great way to end the Season.
Then I watch Season 3 of The Real Ghostbusters 13 episodes. I like to end this Season with The Boogieman is Back. It’s a strong end to this season. By Season 4 the show changed its title to Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters and it would be an hour show containing a Slimer episode a Real Ghostbusters episode and 2 more Slimer episodes. I watch the Slimer cartoons first then watch The Real Ghostbusters Segments.
Out of the 33 Slimer episodes the one I can’t miss is Don’t Tease the Sleaze because the Ghostbusters actually bust a ghost called the Sleaze in that episode and he makes a later appearance in The Real Ghostbusters.
Then I finish season 4 with The Real Ghostbusters segments 8 episodes. Ending with the episode Short Stuff which is a fun episode and introduces an antagonist named the Ghostmaster that will appear in the next season
Then it is time for Season 5 of The Real Ghostbusters 21 episodes. I like to end this season with The Halloween Door. This is the shows third Halloween themed episode and this episode originally aired in prime time and is an awesome episode to end the season. Mostly because it feels like the original film. With ghosts taking over all of New York and the Containment Unit Blows up it’s just epic. It would have been perfect if this was the last episode in the series.
Now we watch Season 6 of The Real Ghostbusters which has been reworked a bit with new Theme Song and Score. This Season has 16 episodes and even though this season contains more toned down episodes than the previous seasons, this season has one of the best episodes in the series. The Episode is called Janine You’ve Changed which addresses all the changes that Janine went through as the series went on and gave a reason she was changing. A Creature that pretends to be her Fairy God Mother.
Now we bring The Real Ghostbusters to an end with Season 7 only 4 episodes long. My Favorite is Not Now Slimer where the Ghostbusters face an entity that is made up of all the anger and hate of every ghost they have ever captured.
After 140 Episodes of The Real Ghostbusters and 33 episodes of Slimer it is finally time for Ghostbusters 2. This includes watching the deleted scenes that are now available on the Blue Ray. Same method as with the First Ghostbusters movie.
I watch it all the way till the Ghostbusters Capture the Scolari Brothers. Watch the Montage. Then it is time for the Ghostbusters 2 video games on the Atari 2600, Both NES Games and Game boy Game Then it is reading every coloring and activity book based on Ghostbusters 2. Which there are quite a few.
Then it’s back to watching the rest of Ghostbusters 2. Ghostbusters 2 marks the end of an era.
Then a new era begins with the animated series Extreme Ghostbusters. This Show lasted 40 episodes and introduces a team of younger Ghostbusters Mentored by Egon Spengler and Janine Melnitz.
The way I tackle this series is not very difficult. This series didn’t last long enough to have a whole lot of merchandise around it. This show sadly fell a bit under the radar due to its time slot.
I start by watching the first 2 episodes Darkness at Noon Parts 1 and 2.
These two episodes do a pretty great job reintroducing us to the world of the Ghostbusters and introducing us to the new team that we will be following through the rest of the series. Also we get to see this new crop use the original equipment only to find it has little effect on the powerful entity they are fighting. So Egon has to upgrade the equipment and give us this new equipment that doesn’t look nearly as cool as the original stuff, but the last time we saw the Ghostbusters it was 1989, this show takes place in 1997 so changes needed to be made.
Original Proton Pack
Extreme Proton Pack
After watching the first 2 episodes I watch the Extreme Ghostbusters Toy Commercials and TV spots to get myself pumped for the new series.
After That I play The Extreme Ghostbusters Video Game on the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. After that I watch the 38 remaining episodes of the series and end the series as it aired with the 2 part series finale titled back in the Saddle Part 1 and 2. These were the perfect episodes to end the series on since it featured the return of Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz, and Winston Zeddemore and had The Real Ghostbusters team up with the Extreme Ghosbusters
For the longest time this is where the marathon ended, but in 2004 there was something new that came to the Ghostbusters Franchise. That would be the 4 issue Ghostbusters Legion Comic Book and a SDCC comic short entitled the Zeddemore Factor from 88 MPH Comics. Just in time for its 20th anniversary.
So I read the Zeddemore Factor and The Ghostbusters Legion Comic Books.
Then I read the Ghostbusters The Return Novel by Sholly Fisch. To most fans this story is not cannon, but it is a fun read.
After That I read the Ghostbusters Manga entitled Ghost Busted. Then I read all the Articles and video game guide about The Ghostbusters Video Game for the 360, PS3,Wii and DS. Just in time for the 25th anniversary.
Then I play Ghostbusters The Video Game for the Nintendo DS
Then I will Play Ghostbusters The Video Game for the Wii.
These Games do a wonderful job for getting me pumped for the next stage on the marathon. Now I read the Ghostbusters Comics from IDW. Starting with Ghostbusters The Other Side which is 4 issues long.
Then I read Ghostbusters Displaced Aggression. Once again 4 issues long.
There are 4 one shot issues that follow a holiday theme titled Haunted Holidays.
Then I read a short paperback story titled Ghostbusters Time Scare.
Then I Read the Comic Book event Titled Infestation. It is a huge IDW Crossover event that ties other properties together including Ghostbusters. Then I read all the Ghostbusters Ongoing from IDW 36 wonderful issues. That ran from September 2011 all the way up to the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
Then it is time to read some Ghostbusters Crossover issues by IDW. The first is a four issue event called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ghostbusters. Completing the 30th anniversary of both Franchises
Now as I write this blog only two of these issues are out now, so anyone reading has a chance to per-order these upcoming books and show IDW that we want this Comic to continue. As a matter of fact Volume 3 has been greenlit. I then read this Ghostbusters cross over event titled Ghostbusters Get Real. This is a special 4 issue event where The IDW Ghostbusters meet The Real Ghostbusters from the popular animated series
Now more can be added to this list because I am happy to say that Ghostbusters is still a living breathing entity. Especially with the New Remake on the Horizon. This is how I enjoy everything that is involved with the original Ghostbusters universe. I doubt the Remake will have a place in this marathon, but as of right now we will have to wait and see.
Now I will share with you how I end the Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon with a bang. After I go through all the actions above I end the marathon by playing Ghostbusters The Video Game for the XBOX 360. This is the Realistic Looking version to the Ghostbusters games that were played earlier, but to me this game is an incredible high note to end the marathon on and to me is the official Ghostbusters 3.
Well that’s it for what I feel is the Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon. As my Ghostbusters Collection Grows this marathon could very well change, but as of the time I am writing this article this is how I do it. I Hope you enjoyed this long winded blog. If you did thank you very much for reading it, and if you hated this, please blame Josh. It was his idea.

In the early planning stages of Nowhere California, the idea of conducting interviews was the furthest thought from our minds and at most a pipe dream. As time progressed, we started covering conventions and building connections. One of those connections grew from Josh’s fandom of a particular independent movie and the movie is “Grand Theft Parsons”
“Grand Theft Parsons” was released in 2004 and was based on the life of Gram Parsons or Gram’s afterlife to be exact. During Gram’s rise in the world of music, he made a pact with his roadie/best friend Phil Kaufman (played in the movie by Johnny Knoxville) that had to be fulfilled after one of their deaths. The pact was that the surviving friend would take the body of the deceased out to the desert and set their soul free. After Gram’s passing in 1973, Phil had to follow through with the promise and it wasn’t as easy as you think.
One of the major aspects on Nowhere California was the ability for Josh and Phil to talk about the things that are important to them, independent movies were at the top of the list and “Grand Theft Parsons” was an important part of that category.
Also, if you are an avid Nowhere California listener, Phil and Josh recorded a special edition of “Why Not” to discuss this movie… Why Not #11-Why Not Grand Theft Parsons?
As we are always prone to thank people a lot. We would like to send a huge thank you to Jeremy for this amazing conversation. It’s rare to meet someone that you respect and enjoy their work, it a whole different story when you get to talk to them. Thank you!
This winter will be cold and Quentin Tarantino plans for the snow to be soaked in blood, as the end of the year will bring his 8th film to theaters and that film is “The Hateful Eight” Anyone that has followed Tarantino’s career will not be surprised by the great cast that has been assembled and the amazing story that will unfold on the screen.
“The Hateful Eight” follows a group of bounty hunters and a prisoner, as they seek shelter from a horrible blizzard and quickly realize that their problems are not all weather related. The level of talent in this movie cannot be measured; the acting talents include Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Channing Tatum, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, and Bruce Dern.
“The Hateful Eight” will have a wide release on January 8, 2016, but Quentin does have a special Christmas present for the hardcore cinema fans. In select theaters, “The Hateful Eight” will be presented in Ultra Panavision 70 on Christmas Day.
There might be a few of you that may be confused on the concept of Ultra Panavision 70 or 70mm film presentation. 70mm film is an old school Hollywood concept of present films, as the “Ultra Panavision” method was used in the 1959 classic “Ben Hur” and allows for a wider aspect ratio, while preserving the quality. As Tarantino is a loyal to the classic film presentation, these special screenings of “The Hateful Eight” will be an event to behold.
This site is still something new to us, but we have been around since 2011. Nowhere California began as a podcast and grew into something we never imagined.
In recent weeks, we have evolved into something more and we want to make sure everyone will continue this journey with us.
One of our biggest changes was our switching of host sites. Unfortunately, we outgrew our previous host site and made the move over to soundcloud…
Now, with that move, we had to launch a new iTunes feed and that is the reason behind this post. The entire Nowhere California Team would like to make sure that our listeners can make to move without issue. So here is a graphic to help things along…
