It’s time to return to the mix of Nowhere California’s coverage of the 2015 Stan Lee’s Comikaze and jump back into the conversations that developed from this amazing event, but I should rephrase amazing event and change that into Shpadoinkle event, as the guys from Nowhere talk with Dian Bachar.

Dian has built a great career, during his time in front of and behind the camera. This conversation delves in many aspects of Dian’s acting life, such as his creative work and friendship with the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Also, Dian discusses his current slate of work and the journey to bring these projects to life, from My Neighborhood to The Murders of Brandywine Theater, Dian has a lot in store for his fans.

Here is a quick trailer for The Murders of Brandywine Theater. This movie can be found on iTunes and other streaming formats.

A Look At X-MEN:APOCALYPSE

ew-cover-1373-xmen_612x380-1

(Joshua Gilmore-Staff Writer)

Apocalypse, in the normal world, can bring fear and pain to humanity. Apocalypse, in the world of mutants, can bring fear and pain to humanity, but Apocalypse can bring a power that the most powerful mutants cannot control.

Since his debut, in May of 1986, Apocalypse has been considered the Alpha and Omega of the mutant world of the X-Men. Now, with the release of the trailer for X-Men:Apocalypse, we will finally see this entity on the big screen…

It’s hard to gather the right comments to express the excitement for this movie and the year that 2016 will be for movies. Apocalypse continues to show that a MARVEL movie can survive outside of the MARVEL Cinematic Wonderland (AKA Disney) and a stacked list of characters will be treating fairly.

As this is the first trailer for this production, we can only imagine and know that there will be A LOT more to look forward in the weeks leading to the release.

The team behind Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice have released a new clip to the world and this scene is shocking to say the least..

There is a lot that could be read in this clip and, on the other hand, there is a lot that is not said. Is this a delusion of kryptonian grandeur or a Gotham nightmare or is this all of the above in a twisted reality?

Tell us your thoughts and don’t forget to check out Jimmy Kimmel Live this Wednesday for the world debut of the new Dawn Of Justice trailer.

It’s Time To Return To The Pages Of Bat Country..

(Joshua Gilmore-Staff Writer)

Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo have taken the Las Vegas journeys from the pages to the silver screen and their return to print is set, with the help of cartoonist Troy Little. Top Shelf Productions, an imprint of IDW Publishing, has announced this adaptation of “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas” will begin their entrance into the world of graphic novels.

IDW Publishing has made a name for itself in the world of comics since their start in 1999, they have developed huge franchises and they have taken the proper risks to create a brand that can challenge the iconic legends. Now, with their entrance into the graphic novels battle ground, they are releasing a beloved classic into a world that should fit the works of Hunter S. Thompson like a glove.

“I’m so pleased that one of the first collaborative projects to come out of the Top Shelf/ IDW relationship will be Troy Little’s inspired take on a true classic of American literature,” said Top Shelf Editor-In-Chief Chris Staros in a press release. “One of the most unforgettable writers turned loose in one of my favorite cities! We can’t wait to show you what Troy’s done with it.”
If you have not read this classical work of Hunter S. Thompson, buy the ticket and take the ride. The original novel and 1998 Terry Gilliam film are readily available online. The Troy Little’s graphic novel adaptation is set to be released this month. For more information on the release go to  Top Shelf Productions Official Site

The Hulk Will Take No Sides In The Civil War..

(Joshua Gilmore-Staff Writer)

The battle lines have been drawn and we know some of the soldiers that will take part in the upcoming Captain America: CIVIL WAR. As we wait for the official trailer release, fans have learned where the big green beast will stand in battle and that will be nowhere.

Mark Ruffalo, who is currently promoting his upcoming movie “Spotlight”, revealed that Hulk was very close to joining the Civil War battle and MARVEL had other ideas. Here is the comments that Ruffalo made to the Italian website Bad Taste …

“The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie (Civil War),” Ruffalo tells Badtaste.it. “I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.”

In the past, The Incredible Hulk has been an incredibly big pain to get translated to the silver screen and could this be another sign of MARVEL’s apathy towards getting the character the respect it deserves on the big screen. MARVEL has kept their plans under wraps, until the time is right and the events of Ultron shows that there should be more on the horizon for Hulk. As long as MARVEL has a winning hand in store for Banner, we can only hope Hulk will finally get his proper time in the spotlight.

The Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon..

(Philip Morgan.Staff Writer)
Hello Everyone My name is Philip Morgan and my friend Josh told me to right a blog for our page.  For those that don’t know, I am a diehard Ghostbusters fan.  Josh and I had talked on and off about the franchise for as long as he’s known me and he wanted me to share with all of you how I enjoy what I like to call The Ideal Ghostbusters marathon.  With the Ghostbusters reboot around the corner now sounds like just a good a time as any to tell you guys how I like to enjoy everything the Ghostbusters Franchise has offered so far that I could manage to get a hold of.  I shared this info with Josh and he said, “Dude you so totally need to write that down and share it, because that is not a marathon, it’s a Gauntlet 🙂  Now were not just talking watching the 2 movies and boom you’re done.  Don’t get me wrong I can do that anytime, because those movies are so much fun.  I can watch those anytime any day.  If either one happens to be on TV, I will stop what I am doing and just watch it.  Now for The Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon I do this once a year.  This is a good way to do it because you don’t want to get burned out or bored with a franchise and you don’t want to drive your loved ones crazy with over saturation so you can just ease your way into this marathon and take your time.  It gives me something to enjoy all year round because it takes some time to do.  Could take a whole year depending how much time one has on their hands.

The Ideal Ghostbusters movie starts simple enough with the first Ghostbusters film.  This includes watching the film in all its glory, plus watching the Deleted Scenes.  If you know the movie as well as I do it is not hard to know where to insert the Deleted Scenes while you are breezing through the film.  Now I start watching the film all the way to the point where the Ghostbusters capture Slimer.

Then I will stop the movie and play The Ghostbusters video games for the Atari 2600, NES, and The Sega Master System.

Then I will resume the film and watch the montage scene up to the point where Winston Zeddemore gets hired.

I stop the film again and watch The Real Ghostbusters Promo pilot for the cartoon because the Ghostbusters are depicted in there Tan uniforms and Winston is present leading my head cannon mind to the conclusion that this scene takes place soon after he was hired.

After that I watch the Ghostbusters music video.

I resume the film up to where Peter and Dana talk about her case and just before the scene changes I stop the film again.

Are we having fun yet?  At this point I play The Ghostbusters video game for the Sega Genesis.

After that I finally finish watching the first movie.
Then I start watching The Real Ghostbusters cartoon starting with the episode Citizen Ghost this episode tells the story of what happened after the first film and how the Ghostbusters wind up with new uniforms.

After that I enjoy watching season 1 of The Real Ghostbusters which is 13 episodes.

After Season 1 I enjoy watching The Real Ghostbusters Toy Commercials

After that I read all The Real Ghostbusters comic books and Coloring Books and other related activity books.  Even if some of the activity books don’t have story and dialogue the art work is really fun to look at.  I will also watch The Real Ghostbusters Arcade Gameplay and Play The Real Ghostbusters for The Game boy.

After that I continue watching season 2 of The Real Ghostbusters which is 65 episodes.  I like to watch the episode Ragnarok and Roll last because I feel that episode is a great way to end the Season.

Then I watch Season 3 of The Real Ghostbusters 13 episodes.  I like to end this Season with The Boogieman is Back.  It’s a strong end to this season.
By Season 4 the show changed its title to Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters and it would be an hour show containing a Slimer episode a Real Ghostbusters episode and 2 more Slimer episodes. I watch the Slimer cartoons first then watch The Real Ghostbusters Segments.

Out of the 33 Slimer episodes the one I can’t miss is Don’t Tease the Sleaze because the Ghostbusters actually bust a ghost called the Sleaze in that episode and he makes a later appearance in The Real Ghostbusters.

Then I finish season 4 with The Real Ghostbusters segments 8 episodes.  Ending with the episode Short Stuff which is a fun episode and introduces an antagonist named the Ghostmaster that will appear in the next season

Then it is time for Season 5 of The Real Ghostbusters 21 episodes.  I like to end this season with The Halloween Door.  This is the shows third Halloween themed episode and this episode originally aired in prime time and is an awesome episode to end the season.  Mostly because it feels like the original film.  With ghosts taking over all of New York and the Containment Unit Blows up it’s just epic.  It would have been perfect if this was the last episode in the series.

Now we watch Season 6 of The Real Ghostbusters which has been reworked a bit with new Theme Song and Score.  This Season has 16 episodes and even though this season contains more toned down episodes than the previous seasons, this season has one of the best episodes in the series.  The Episode is called Janine You’ve Changed which addresses all the changes that Janine went through as the series went on and gave a reason she was changing.  A Creature that pretends to be her Fairy God Mother.

Now we bring The Real Ghostbusters to an end with Season 7 only 4 episodes long.  My Favorite is Not Now Slimer where the Ghostbusters face an entity that is made up of all the anger and hate of every ghost they have ever captured.

After 140 Episodes of The Real Ghostbusters and 33 episodes of Slimer it is finally time for Ghostbusters 2.  This includes watching the deleted scenes that are now available on the Blue Ray.  Same method as with the First Ghostbusters movie.

I watch it all the way till the Ghostbusters Capture the Scolari Brothers.  Watch the Montage.  Then it is time for the Ghostbusters 2 video games on the Atari 2600, Both NES Games and Game boy Game

Then it is reading every coloring and activity book based on Ghostbusters 2.   Which there are quite a few.

Then it’s back to watching the rest of Ghostbusters 2.
Ghostbusters 2 marks the end of an era.

Then a new era begins with the animated series Extreme Ghostbusters.  This Show lasted 40 episodes and introduces a team of younger Ghostbusters Mentored by Egon Spengler and Janine Melnitz.

The way I tackle this series is not very difficult.  This series didn’t last long enough to have a whole lot of merchandise around it.  This show sadly fell a bit under the radar due to its time slot.

I start by watching the first 2 episodes Darkness at Noon Parts 1 and 2.

These two episodes do a pretty great job reintroducing us to the world of the Ghostbusters and introducing us to the new team that we will be following through the rest of the series.  Also we get to see this new crop use the original equipment only to find it has little effect on the powerful entity they are fighting.  So Egon has to upgrade the equipment and give us this new equipment that doesn’t look nearly as cool as the original stuff, but the last time we saw the Ghostbusters it was 1989, this show takes place in 1997 so changes needed to be made.

Original Proton Pack

Extreme Proton Pack

After watching the first 2 episodes I watch the Extreme Ghostbusters Toy Commercials and TV spots to get myself pumped for the new series.

After That I play The Extreme Ghostbusters Video Game on the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance.
After that I watch the 38 remaining episodes of the series and end the series as it aired with the 2 part series finale titled back in the Saddle Part 1 and 2. These were the perfect episodes to end the series on since it featured the return of Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz, and Winston Zeddemore and had The Real Ghostbusters team up with the Extreme Ghosbusters

For the longest time this is where the marathon ended, but in 2004 there was something new that came to the Ghostbusters Franchise.  That would be the 4 issue Ghostbusters Legion Comic Book and a SDCC comic short entitled the Zeddemore Factor from 88 MPH Comics.  Just in time for its 20th anniversary.

So I read the Zeddemore Factor and The Ghostbusters Legion Comic Books.

Then I read the Ghostbusters The Return Novel by Sholly Fisch.  To most fans this story is not cannon, but it is a fun read.

After That I read the Ghostbusters Manga entitled Ghost Busted.
Then I read all the Articles and video game guide about The Ghostbusters Video Game for the 360, PS3,Wii and DS.  Just in time for the 25th anniversary.

Then I play Ghostbusters The Video Game for the Nintendo DS

Then I will Play Ghostbusters The Video Game for the Wii.

These Games do a wonderful job for getting me pumped for the next stage on the marathon.  Now I read the Ghostbusters Comics from IDW.  Starting with Ghostbusters The Other Side which is 4 issues long.

Then I read Ghostbusters Displaced Aggression.  Once again 4 issues long.

There are 4 one shot issues that follow a holiday theme titled Haunted Holidays.

Then I read a short paperback story titled Ghostbusters Time Scare.

Then I Read the Comic Book event Titled Infestation.  It is a huge IDW Crossover event that ties other properties together including Ghostbusters.
Then I read all the Ghostbusters Ongoing from IDW 36 wonderful issues.  That ran from September 2011 all the way up to the 30th anniversary of the franchise.

Then it is time to read some Ghostbusters Crossover issues by IDW.  The first is a four issue event called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ghostbusters.  Completing the 30th anniversary of both Franchises

Now as I write this blog only two of these issues are out now, so anyone reading has a chance to per-order these upcoming books and show IDW that we want this Comic to continue.  As a matter of fact Volume 3 has been greenlit.  I then read this Ghostbusters cross over event titled Ghostbusters Get Real.  This is a special 4 issue event where The IDW Ghostbusters meet The Real Ghostbusters from the popular animated series

Now more can be added to this list because I am happy to say that Ghostbusters is still a living breathing entity.  Especially with the New Remake on the Horizon.  This is how I enjoy everything that is involved with the original Ghostbusters universe.  I doubt the Remake will have a place in this marathon, but as of right now we will have to wait and see.

Now I will share with you how I end the Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon with a bang.  After I go through all the actions above I end the marathon by playing Ghostbusters The Video Game for the XBOX 360.  This is the Realistic Looking version to the Ghostbusters games that were played earlier, but to me this game is an incredible high note to end the marathon on and to me is the official Ghostbusters 3.

Well that’s it for what I feel is the Ideal Ghostbusters Marathon.  As my Ghostbusters Collection Grows this marathon could very well change, but as of the time I am writing this article this is how I do it.  I Hope you enjoyed this long winded blog.  If you did thank you very much for reading it, and if you hated this, please blame Josh.  It was his idea.

Deadpool: The Merc Who Loved Me (A dirty dirty love story)

(Nicholas Dye/Staff Writer) READER’S DISCRETION ADVISED: SWEAR WORDS AHEAD!! LIKE…LOTS OF THEM.

It started when a bad idea fucked a guy in a green suit. Okay, maybe I should clarify that. Way back in the year 2009, us nerds huddled in a dimly lit theater waiting to see the awesomeness that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Not only did we get a badass Wolverine backstory and a better Sabertooth played by Ray Donovan (or whatever his name is), but we also finally got our favorite “Merc with a mouth”, Deadpool!! Sure he was played by pretty boy Ryan Reynolds but at least we knew Reynolds had the whole foul-mouthed chatterbox thing down (see Blade Trinity)! By the end of X-Men Origins our favorite merc had been reduced to a shirtless super-mutant who had Baraka’s arms from Mortal Kombat, and, get this, HIS FUCKING MOUTH SEWN SHUT!!!! It was like seeing a Batman who could beat your ass but couldn’t tie his own shoes without the help of Morgan Freeman…Thanks Nolan. Needless to say, us fanboys (and girls, settle the fuck down), left the theater with a bitter taste in our mouths…(too easy)

(Fuck you Fox…see above)

Shortly after that train wreck of a movie, the rumor mill started spitting out ideas about a standalone Deadpool movie. With visions of that bullshit in the picture above still fresh in our heads, we only had semi nerd boners and whatever semi thing nerd girls get. In the meantime, it was announced that Reynolds would be slipping into another skin tight hero suit for DC and Warner Bros. this time and in 2011, we packed our hopeful asses back into theaters for Green Lantern aaaaand we got fucked hard and dirty (in all the bad ways) again! If you haven’t seen it, it looks like this:

(Wow…fuck you too Warner!)

Feeling quite violated, we left theaters with the kind of depression that not even a chimichanga would fix and all seemed lost and hopeless. We thought we would never get to see Deadpool on the big screen except in the OVER circumcised looking version that we got from Origins. In 2012, however, we heard all new rumors about the return of Deadpool but instead of hearing trumpets, we all were apprehensive like a hard fart in spandex, not quite sure how to handle it. The reoccurring rumor was that Reynolds, a die-hard Deadpool fan, had independently created a 1-2 minute “teaser” to take before Fox studio executives and that their reaction was like the first time you got to touch a boob under the shirt but over the bra…fucking thrilled! Our excitement (and pants) began to swell again and the horizon looked bright for us fans of Wade Wilson aka Deadpool! Sadly, buzz began to die down and we were left with movie blue balls. Just when we thought we would never get to bust our Deadpool nut, 2014 hit and the exact video that blew the minds of the Fox execs found its way to the inter web…here you go kids!!

Like most of our sex lives, it was short but damn satisfying! In those few minutes, we got a Deadpool who bantered well with the bad guys, never took anything seriously, broke the 4th wall, AND killed the shit out of everything!! It was like watching an early Jenna Jameson movie, dirty and artistic and left us reaching for a Kleenex. FINALLY we would get the right kind of Deadpool movie!! Then, as if biting into a Quarter Pounder with cheese only to find a dirty band-aid, Fox told us it would be PG-13. What the fuck!? How can you have a Deadpool movie without all the violence and implied sex and chock full of salty swear words!!? As any die hard fan looking for the silver lining to this shit sandwich, we began to be thankful that we were even getting a Deadpool movie and the phrase “They can still make it work with PG-13” became commonplace. Fast forward to April Fool’s Day 2015. We had all settled into the idea of a PG-13 Deadpool movie no matter how reluctantly and there was an announcement that Ryan Reynolds would be on Extra with pictures and news from the Deadpool set and here’s what we got:

SWEET BABY JESUS WE’RE GETTING A RATED ‘R’ DEADPOOL MOVIE!!!! Like a blowjob from a girl that’s waaaay out of your league, we couldn’t believe it was actually happening!! There would be no holds barred and no language censored! Deadpool would finally get it’s proper representation on the big screen. The only apprehension was Reynolds himself who had, as we said, whiffed pretty hard at the box office in the “superhero” genre. All doubts, however, were erased after footage of Deadpool was shown at the legendary San Diego Comic Con this year. Grainy footage leaked out and we fanboys and girls couldn’t watch it fast enough. Fox studios told us they were going to wait a while to give the general public an actual trailer but in the meantime, we learned just how hard Reynolds has worked to bring Deadpool to life. At the press event for his film “Self/less” Reynolds was asked about Deadpool to which he responded:

“For me it’s 11 years of waiting to do this guy. That doesn’t happen like this in a business where you wait so long and they’ll eventually say: ‘You can’t do this, you’re old,’” “Six years ago, we wrote a script and it was awesome. It was as if the people who created Deadpool themselves had done it.”

This last week, Fox released the same trailer that was shown at SDCC and fans worldwide have been unified in their enthusiasm. Not only are we finally getting a Deadpool movie, not only is “The Merc with a Mouth” being played by someone who has dedicated an unhealthy amount of time to get the character right AND brought to life, not only is he going to cuss like a sailor with Tourettes, NOT ONLY are we….oh I’ll just shut the fuck up and give you this red band trailer in all it’s fucking glory!!! Thanks 20th Century Fox for getting it right on the money!!! Deadpool will kick theaters right in the balls on February 12th, 2016. Take a Valentine’s date and maybe you’ll get laid!!
