Forget about Batman versus Superman and Captain America versus Iron Man doesn’t hold a candle to a battle that has been fought for centuries. The war of the ages have been fought between the worlds of man versus the brutal beasts we know as ROCKS! During the 2016 Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Convention, the guys from Nowhere had the pleasure to talk with the men behind the insanity known as MAN Vs. ROCK.
Kevin Bieber and Victor De Troy are the creator of this comic book madness, the world of MAN Vs. ROCK is something that has to be seen to be believed and the same can be said about talking to these two men. The Nowhere California team didn’t have a video camera ready, but the audio will allow you to take fun journey.
If you can’t tell from the audio, this was a fun conversation and the entire Nowhere California team would like to thank these guys for their time. Their input and descriptions of the evolution of their creation was awesome. Also, their WTF Movie Moment picks will go into the Nowhere Hall Of Fame.
The team from Nowhere California has continued to have a special place in their world for the minds behind independent creativity, from film to the page and everything in between, the guys from Nowhere will talk the opportunity to talk with these people.
At the 2016 Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con, I caught with the man behind Wannabe Press and talked with Russell Nohelty. The conversation delves into the continuing evolution of his company and some of the upcoming projects.
Every convention is a special event and crossing paths with people from past cons are definite highlights. We would like to thank Russell for taking the time to talk with us and we can’t wait to cross paths again.
In recent years the Hollywood system seems to have grown complacent to the fans that help build their bank accounts and credibility. Every year for every popular movie, there are multiple movies that should have seen a lot more red light and lesser green ones. The fan’s apathy could cause the next lackluster installment of “Fantastic 4” or the fan’s passion could rise up and decide for the original content we deserve. This is where LEGION M comes in and changes the Hollywood machine.
LEGION M is the first fan owned entertainment company, the fans make the decisions and the fans will reap the rewards. At the recent Los Angeles Comic Convention, the co-founder and president of LEGION M., Jeff Annison was in attendance at the convention to introduce the convention goers to the world of LEGION M and their current project the “Pitch Elevator”
I was lucky enough to sit down with Jeff and delve into the creation of this unique concept…
The foundation of LEGION M is why I love independent creativity and why Nowhere California exists. I consider it an honor that I had an opportunity talk with Jeff and learn about this company. The entire Nowhere California team would like to thank Jeff for taking the time to talk with us and we urge all of our listeners to join the legion.
The world has been waiting for more of the Guardians, in October we were delivered a teaser shot of MARVEL’s space warriors and we wanted a longer drink. Today, the team from “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2” helped relieve any lingering Thanksgiving hangovers and gave the masses a larger dose of Groot.
I think I could stay away from the death button, but I could not avoid the reply button on this trailer. MARVEL seems to have a knack to build a smaller franchise into a monstrous movie event, can you think of your love for Iron Man before the first movie? Anyways, the MARVEL machine has made the right moves when it comes to the guardians’ world and this next volume has the makings to become another box office force to be reckoned with.
In case you need the reminder, Vol.2 of the Guardians is unleashed in theaters May 5,2017!
The guys from Nowhere are continuing their coverage from the 2016 Stan Lee Los Angeles Comic Con and they are crossing paths with another friend from conventions past who happens to have their roots in the Garden State.
In this installment of our convention’s coverage, we talk with the multitalented Marilyn Ghigliotti and this isn’t here first visit to Nowhere, as the Nowhere California Team has crossed paths with her two other times in this past year.
The first meeting took place at the 2015 Stan Lee’s Comikaze (who would have thought that would be the last year for that moniker)
The second meeting was at the world premiere for the amazing science fiction movie “Rouge Warrior:Robot Fighter” (Seriously, seek this movie out and enjoy it.)
Now, with that refresher out of the way, here is our newest interview with Marilyn. In this conversation, we talk about some of her newest projects and convention life. Also, the discussion delves into the continuing legacy of the little movie known as CLERKS.
As always, it was an absolute pleasure and highlight of the convention to talk with Marilyn. The entire Nowhere California team would like to send a gratitude for taking the time to talk with us and we can’t wait until our next conversation.
We highly recommend our listeners to keep an eye out for all of Marilyn’s upcoming projects and check out here official website CLICK HERE For Marilyn’s Website
The guys here at Nowhere California have launched a new campaign that, at the very least, will get us some awesome shirts made, and at best, we might just earn some money that we can put towards our convention expenses and equipment costs.
We have designed an exclusive “HACK PACK” t-shirt and the short goal is to sell 14 shirts which will get them to print. If we can reach a goal of 50 shirts, then we will actually make some money to put towards expanding our horizons at Nowhere California.
The campaign can be found at http://www.booster.com/nowhereca and the shirt runs a total of $19.99 with shipping included. They are 100% cotton high quality t-shirts that you can show off at conventions or comic shops. BUT WAIT!! THERE’S MORE!! The first 14 people who purchase shirts will receive ALL of our interviews and content from the upcoming Stan Lee’s Comikaze before the general public does.
We here at Nowhere California don’t usually like to pander but…OKAY OKAY we have never been above pandering to get listeners and now we hope that same shameless groveling will get you to join the HACK PACK and sport our mildly suggestive t-shirt!! Excelsior!!!!
A few weeks ago, Nowhere California was introduced to the independent horror/comedy “CONJOINED” and I was quickly intrigued by this bare bones, but highly creative movie. I wrote a review for this movie and posted my thoughts to this website.
Recently, I was able to talk to one of the creative minds behind this movie and talk to Joe Grisaffi. Joe was the director of “CONJOINED” and this interview dives into the evolution of a crazy story idea. Also, our conversation takes a look at Joe’s career and his adventures in the 8-bit video game world.
In the world of documentaries, entertainment can easily be lost to information overload and that will vary from subject to subject, but that is where “Glory Daze:The Life And Times Of Michael Alig” takes the road less traveled. It is these traits that lead to my interview with Ramon Fernandez, the director of “Glory Daze”, and our conversation delves into a case that still fascinates many to this date.
The curious case of Michael Alig begins in the rise of the New York Club scene of the 90s, where the club kids and drugs ran the street. Alig became the leader of this party revolution and felt untouchable, but the party came to an end and Alig was convicted of murder.
This documentary will give you a look at a life and a moment of time that could easily be forgotten, but dissects this period to every level. The entire Nowhere California team would like to thank Ramon for talking with us and giving us some insight on the making of this film.
“Glory Days:The Life And Times Of Michael Alig” is currently available on digital formats and stay locked into this website for a complete review of this film.
It’s time to return to Burkittsville, but first we have to take a detour through the woods and take a look at one of the biggest cinema surprises in a very long time. As this year’s San Diego Comic Con becomes a memory, one of the event’s more shocking moments came from an unlikely source.
That was the teaser trailer for a movie known as “The Woods” and this movie could easily have been swept under the rug, but there were a few things that quickly stood out. First, the soundtrack and the tone that was set. “Every Breath You Take” is an iconic song, it’s a song that can have dozens of meaning and that depends on the listener. Also, the meaning could be taken to a different level by the performer and this interpretation was brought to a fitting level in the world of horror cinema.
The next aspect of this teaser trailer would lead the most wayward horror fan to see that there was going to be more to “The Woods” then just another camping trip and I’m talking about the critics comments, as the trailer begin you are quickly met with the glowing praise of this movie. The praise all says the same thing and it’s the start of something huge in the genre.
Now, this brings us to the 2016 San Diego Comic Con and a special screening of “The Woods.” The reality of the screening was revealed before the projector even warmed up, leaving the select members of the media and a few lucky Comic Con attendees pleasantly surprised. As the screening’s guests waited to enter the theater, crew members took down the promotional posters and banners for “The Woods” to replace them with the real title of the movie.
The long rumored return of the Blair Witch was a reality and it was kept off the radar of the normally spoiler fueled Hollywood. This movie was written by Simon Barrett and directed by Adam Wingard, both having blood on their hands from the V/H/S film series and modern horror classic “You’re Next”.
“Blair Witch” follows a group of college kids into the woods, as James wants to know what happened to his sister 20 years earlier and the group quickly realize the reality of this legend. As the screening proceeded and word spread, the internet was hit with a new trailer for this cult classic’s sequel.
As a fan of the original, I am excited to see the Blair Witch return and this new movie seems to stay faithful to the classic. The concept of found footage movies have become such a common place in cinema, that the scare factor has been erased and this movie looks to change that.
The critical praise seems to be legit and everyone should be ready to jump in their seats, when “BLAIR WITCH” comes to theaters September 16th
The San Diego Comic Con has had a history of shocking first looks and this year that tradition continue, thanks to the creative minds of the DC Universe. During the Saturday panels, DC unleashed a special trailer for the first part of the “Justice League” franchise. This was not just a teaser trailer, it was a full blown trailer…
“Justice League” began principal photography in April of this year and we now have a trailer, there are dozens of question that could be asked and I could care less about the answers. This trailer explodes the universe that was teased in “Dawn Of Justice” and definitely takes a tone shift that was set up with Batman v Superman, but I do not think this is aftermath of that movie’s mixed reviews.
“Dawn Of Justice” and “Justice League” are different worlds to a bigger universe, just like the individual MARVEL movie had a different view compared to the assembled Avengers movies. “Justice League” has more pressure on it compared to the first Avengers movie, most people will want to pull this movie in multiple direction to fit into the current mold and that would be a mistake. DC and Warner Bros. need to stay focused on their universe, so the fans can have a unique world that they deserve.
