The world has been waiting for more of the Guardians, in October we were delivered a teaser shot of MARVEL’s space warriors and we wanted a longer drink. Today, the team from “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2” helped relieve any lingering Thanksgiving hangovers and gave the masses a larger dose of Groot.
I think I could stay away from the death button, but I could not avoid the reply button on this trailer. MARVEL seems to have a knack to build a smaller franchise into a monstrous movie event, can you think of your love for Iron Man before the first movie? Anyways, the MARVEL machine has made the right moves when it comes to the guardians’ world and this next volume has the makings to become another box office force to be reckoned with.
In case you need the reminder, Vol.2 of the Guardians is unleashed in theaters May 5,2017!
The guys from Nowhere are continuing their coverage from the 2016 Stan Lee Los Angeles Comic Con and they are crossing paths with another friend from conventions past who happens to have their roots in the Garden State.
In this installment of our convention’s coverage, we talk with the multitalented Marilyn Ghigliotti and this isn’t here first visit to Nowhere, as the Nowhere California Team has crossed paths with her two other times in this past year.
The first meeting took place at the 2015 Stan Lee’s Comikaze (who would have thought that would be the last year for that moniker)
The second meeting was at the world premiere for the amazing science fiction movie “Rouge Warrior:Robot Fighter” (Seriously, seek this movie out and enjoy it.)
Now, with that refresher out of the way, here is our newest interview with Marilyn. In this conversation, we talk about some of her newest projects and convention life. Also, the discussion delves into the continuing legacy of the little movie known as CLERKS.
As always, it was an absolute pleasure and highlight of the convention to talk with Marilyn. The entire Nowhere California team would like to send a gratitude for taking the time to talk with us and we can’t wait until our next conversation.
We highly recommend our listeners to keep an eye out for all of Marilyn’s upcoming projects and check out here official website CLICK HERE For Marilyn’s Website
As in most Hollywood successes, a speed bump is bound to creep up and everyone’s favorite merc with the mouth has ran head first into a hard bump. Tim Miller, the director of the original blockbuster DEADPOOL, has left the production of DEADPOOL 2 over creative differences.
After the news broke, the rumors started to flood the internet and the truth could be stranger than fiction, but a rift between Miller and Ryan Reynolds seems to lead the charge. The studio has been quick to keep the news in a positive light, as they have already announced their next project with Miller. Fox has released information that Miller will begin work on the adaptation of Daniel Suarez’s science fiction novel, Influx.
In Hollywood creative differences happen as often as rehab stints, but they can hopefully end the same way. I am a massive fan of DEADPOOL and the extended world the movie unleashed, so any static could bring upon something amazing and very little property damage.
Now, due to this issue, the release date for DEADPOOL 2 is up in the air.
Childish Gambino is entering a galaxy far, far away and a very important piece of Han Solo’s past has been casted for the upcoming spin off. The rumors have been confirmed and the official Star Wars Twitter account announced that Donald Glover will play the future Baron Administrator, Lando Calrissian. Glover will be joining Alden Ehrenreich, who will be playing a younger and still breathing Han Solo.
The last time we saw Lando, who was played by the legendary Billy Dee Williams, was during the events of episodes V and VI of the original Star Wars Saga, but this time around we are going to see Lando and Han’s life before Cloud city. The still untitled entry into the Star Wars universe will revolve around their early life in the intergalactic underworld.
Since there is still a lot of time before the 2018 release, the casting and story information will becoming quickly. As this world continues to grow and the movie begins to get filmed, stay locked into this site and http://www.starwars.com for any new information.
“I am Groot!!!” That’s how excited I am for this teaser trailer! Let’s get something straight right away. I am a comic fanboy and I love everything Marvel is doing with their films. That being said, there was a huge expectation placed on each and every film that came before Guardians of the Galaxy. I believe the phenomenal success of the first film is completely due to notion that almost NOBODY had read a Guardians comic prior to the film. I will pause here for all of the Cheetos Puff and Mountain Dew Baja Blast fueled outrage aimed at me by those who actually did read a Guardians comic…All out of your system fanboys and girls? Good now pipe down!! I remember when Marvel had announced it’s phases and people look confused about Guardians. Jump to that weekend opening and sweet baby Jesus!! The first film was amazing and it had all to do with the vision of James Gunn as well as the tremendous cast he compiled. I mean come on!! Glenn Close!? Back to present day and I stand here with wet ring around my crotch because I have peed myself with pure joy. This is just a teaser trailer and it doesn’t give us much except the returning major players, the Blue Suede playing in the background, some badass slow walking, and a pretty funny moment between Drax and Peter Quill. Close it out with some Rocket and Baby Groot and you’ve got this guy hooked. Join me in theaters on May 5th, 2017 and you can throw Milk Duds at me while I geek out over the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!
It’s time to return to Burkittsville, but first we have to take a detour through the woods and take a look at one of the biggest cinema surprises in a very long time. As this year’s San Diego Comic Con becomes a memory, one of the event’s more shocking moments came from an unlikely source.
That was the teaser trailer for a movie known as “The Woods” and this movie could easily have been swept under the rug, but there were a few things that quickly stood out. First, the soundtrack and the tone that was set. “Every Breath You Take” is an iconic song, it’s a song that can have dozens of meaning and that depends on the listener. Also, the meaning could be taken to a different level by the performer and this interpretation was brought to a fitting level in the world of horror cinema.
The next aspect of this teaser trailer would lead the most wayward horror fan to see that there was going to be more to “The Woods” then just another camping trip and I’m talking about the critics comments, as the trailer begin you are quickly met with the glowing praise of this movie. The praise all says the same thing and it’s the start of something huge in the genre.
Now, this brings us to the 2016 San Diego Comic Con and a special screening of “The Woods.” The reality of the screening was revealed before the projector even warmed up, leaving the select members of the media and a few lucky Comic Con attendees pleasantly surprised. As the screening’s guests waited to enter the theater, crew members took down the promotional posters and banners for “The Woods” to replace them with the real title of the movie.
The long rumored return of the Blair Witch was a reality and it was kept off the radar of the normally spoiler fueled Hollywood. This movie was written by Simon Barrett and directed by Adam Wingard, both having blood on their hands from the V/H/S film series and modern horror classic “You’re Next”.
“Blair Witch” follows a group of college kids into the woods, as James wants to know what happened to his sister 20 years earlier and the group quickly realize the reality of this legend. As the screening proceeded and word spread, the internet was hit with a new trailer for this cult classic’s sequel.
As a fan of the original, I am excited to see the Blair Witch return and this new movie seems to stay faithful to the classic. The concept of found footage movies have become such a common place in cinema, that the scare factor has been erased and this movie looks to change that.
The critical praise seems to be legit and everyone should be ready to jump in their seats, when “BLAIR WITCH” comes to theaters September 16th
The following is the finale of Nowhere California’s coverage of the 2016 Los Angeles Days of the Dead convention and in this installment the guys have fallen prey to some top secret clown business, as Josh and Doug talk with horror icon Sid Haig.
Sid is a legend of the silver screen, with a list of over 100 roles to his name and an impact that can be felt in many genres of the film industry. In recent years, Sid has become a mainstay in the convention world and a familiar face to the Days of the Dead loyal.
During Nowhere California’s adventures at Days of the Dead, the guys from Nowhere have made it a point to bump into this legend and we have been lucky enough to sit down twice with the man behind the clown make up..

As with all of our conversations, everybody on the Nowhere California team would like to extend our thanks to Sid Haig. It was an absolute pleasure talking with this icon.
It started one year ago today, this site was launched and took the concept of Nowhere California to a whole new level.
Nowhere California started in 2011 and it was just another conversation between two friends, but these conversation started taking place in front of a microphone and unleashed on the internet. It was as simple as that, but as Nowhere California evolved, the team grew and new accomplishments were reach.
The episodes started to grow and the team ventured out of the Nowhere city limits, as they dove into the world of conventions and conducting interviews. It was with each accomplishment, the Nowhere California family stuck to their ideals of what they wanted to produce and not to become just another podcast.
It was that mindset that grew into this website and, as we mark our first year on the net, we want to simply say THANK YOU.
Thank you for following the journey of Nowhere California.
Thank you for listening to the original podcast and all of the other podcast that have sprung from this little idea.
Thank you for checking out this site
And thank you for continuing this adventure with us.
Our coverage from the Los Angeles Days of the Dead convention continues and the guys from Nowhere are crossing paths with one of their favorite campers from Camp Arawak, as Phil and Josh talk with the amazing Felissa Rose..
This conversation makes Felissa a member of a select group of return visitors to Nowhere California, as we first had the pleasure of talking with Felissa and Jonathan Tiersten at the 2014 Days of the Dead convention..
Jonathan Tiersten, Felissa Rose, Joshua Gilmore, and Philip Morgan at the 2014 Los Angeles Days of the Dead
When we first started the podcast, the idea of conducting interviews was far from a reality in our eyes. Now, with our 6th convention in the books, it definitely is a surreal moment to talk with the creative minds behind the works we love and the feeling is indescribable, when these people remember us.
It was a great honor to meet Felissa in 2014 and the entire Nowhere California team had the same feelings as we crossed passed with Felissa at the Days of the Dead convention in April.
J.K. Simmons has hung up his Daily Bugle Press Credentials and picked up the Commissioner’s badge of the Gotham Police Department, as Simmons has signed on to play Commissioner Gorden in the upcoming Justice League films.
As we are a few weeks away from the “Dawn Of Justice”, there is little to no chance of seeing Simmons step into commissioner’s office and Simmons will probably sit out the battle of the world’s finest. This down time will be short lived, as part 1 of the Justice League films will begin production next month and will hit theaters Nov.17,2017.
Now, that we know Simmons’ position in the “Justice League” world, where does this leave Simmons and Gorden in the growing DC universe? Will we see Simmons in the upcoming solo Affleck/Batman movies?
